| The Howland Company offers a complete line of products designed to test over-the-air (OTA) performance of cell phone handsets and other wireless devices. These products include both complete, turnkey wireless test labs and also a wide array of test accessories. Our wireless test labs were developed in collaboration with Motorola and can be found in Motorola design centers throughout the world.
In March of 2004 The Howland Company signed a license agreement with Motorola that gave us the rights to market and manufacture many of the advanced products that Motorola has developed for handset testing. The addition of these products to our wireless test labs allows us to offer turnkey solutions for handset testing.

In 2008 The Howland Company became an OTA Partner with Rohde & Schwarz. Rohde & Schwarz modified their popular wireless OTA software, the AMS32, to interface with and control The Howland Company’s Wireless Test Labs. Since that time the two companies have partnered in providing wireless test lab solutions to companies throughout the world.
The most comprehensive standard for OTA handset testing is the CTIA Test Plan for Mobile Station Over the Air Performance. Although developed for the US market, this test plan is rapidly gaining acceptance throughout the world. Many of our customers have certified their wireless test labs to the exacting requirements of the CTIA and can now certify that the handsets they test meet the CTIA OTA performance requirements. |
